Policy makers and industry stakeholders from Europe and Japan will discuss IoT security standardization and certification work, from baseline to vertical-specific requirements.
The work shop will be held online between Brussels and Tokyo on Monday, May 30th, 2022. From 9:00 to 11:45 Brussels time; from 16:00 to 18:45 Tokyo time.
The Internet of Things (IoT) is a driver and an enabler of the digitization of Society. With the deployment of 5G networks, devices and sensors will make our lives increasingly connected, while enabling services such as Smart Cities, Smart Homes, Connected Cars and Industry Automation.
Developed in heterogeneous ecosystem, IoT applications and use cases in different vertical industries will raise specific security issues. Defining common approaches for IoT Security standards will contribute to innovation, interoperability of solutions, reliability and speed of adoption of new IoT solutions.
Following the successful EU-Japan Cooperation webinar on IoT Security held on June 1, 2021, this workshop will be co-chaired by the European Commission's Directorate General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology (EC DG CONNECT) and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communication of the Government of Japan (MIC) in May 2022.
