ETSI, in cooperation with the European Emergency Number Association (EENA), is organizing a NG112 Emergency Communications with NG eCall Plugtests event to be held in Malaga, Spain with the support of ETSI TC EMTEL and TC MSG. This event will be hosted by the University of Malaga from 30 September to 4 October 2024. Remote participation will be possible.

The concept of "Next Generation 112" (NG112) has been identified as a potential answer to the increasing requirements and demands of content-rich emergency calling. The interoperability of such NG112 with NG eCall products and services has not been tested in Europe previously, leading to this ideal opportunity.

This NG112 Emergency Communications Plugtests event will see a testing campaign based on the use cases developed by ETSI and EENA and is a unique chance for vendors of emergency communication equipment to test their product against different implementations and scenarios.

Please note that the event is covered by a Non-Disclosure Agreement which sets out the terms of a fair and non-discriminatory participation, i.e. vendors are free to publish their attendance to the event, and interoperability results shall be treated as confidential information.

The benefits of participation for a vendor include a chance to test even early implementations in a neutral environment, to validate their understanding of next generation emergency calling requirements as well as to communicate about and promote the technology.
An event not to be missed, if you want to be sure your products and implementations are fit for the next generation emergency calling requirements.

Registration is now open. It will close on 31 August 2024.

This event will be hosted by University of Malaga, Spain. Vendors participating in over-the-top testing and Observers will be allowed onsite.

Venue: Instituto de Tecnología e Ingeniería del Software, Edificio de Investigación Ada Byron, Universidad de Málaga.

Calle Arquitecto Francisco Peñalosa, 18.

Málaga, 29010

SPAIN

The goal of the NG112 Communication Plugtests event is to validate the interoperability and conformity of a variety of different solutions on the market using different scenarios and test cases. The tests will be based on the Next Generation 112 Long Term Definition document (NG112 LTD), 3GPP, ETSI and IETF standards.

This event is open to NGCS vendors, Forest Guide developers, user agent, mobile app providers, and call handling vendors. Furthermore, any Government Body, Policy Maker or Local Authority is invited to attend as an Observer.

The purpose and scope of the NG112 Communication Plugtests are to trial independently and jointly all following tasks of the NG112 communication chain based on NG112 networks:

– location & location-based call routing
– audio, video streams
– real-time text interoperability
– policy-based routing
– LTD functional elements
