ETSI Headquarters, Sophia Antipolis, France – 31 January 2012
Security in the Cloud and in machine to machine communications were some of the key issues debated at the ETSI Security Workshop, held in Sophia Antipolis, France, on the 18th and 19th of January 2012. This seventh edition of the workshop gathered security standardization experts from partner standards bodies, consortia, industry and academia worldwide. With over 150 registered delegates, the ETSI Security Workshop continues its success and has become a fixture in ETSI's calendar of workshops.
As well as providing a valuable round-up of the latest developments in security standardization at ETSI and elsewhere, this year's workshop included special sessions dedicated to security in the Cloud, mobile and wireless security, security in intelligent transport systems, and security issues related to machine to machine communications and smart grids.
The ETSI Security Workshop is organized each year in January, uniting all the standardization experts in ETSI dealing with security matters, and fostering co-ordination and exchange of information. Now in its seventh year, it also serves as a platform of exchange with partner standards bodies such as CEN, CENELEC, ISO and ITU, and with ENISA and the European Commission.
Full details of this year's workshop including presentations discussed and a report on the event are available at: www.etsi.org/securityworkshop.
In addition, ETSI has recently published an updated version of its white paper on security, which provides an overview of all ETSI activities related to security standardization, and includes a list of all security related standards published by ETSI. The updated white paper is available at: www.etsi.org/securitywhitepaper.
